Evinox HIU Parameters Setup
Hot Water Temperature
In many occasions, we have found DHW set on some dual plate Evinox HIUs at 65°C. It is recommended for the Domestic Hot Water to be set at 50°C for two main reasons. The first one it’s to reduce the build up of limescale in the DHW plate heat exchanger and the second one it’s reduce the cost of your bills. What’s the point to pay for the hot water to be heated at 65°C and at the end you will mix it with cold water as it’s too hot? Even Evinox would recommend DHW to be set at 50°C except if you have a storage HIU.
Low Primary Return Temperature
The lowest is the primary return temperature the most efficient your system is. According to Besa Standards, the primary return temperature should be lower than 25°C while hot water is in use and below 40°C with heating on. Both Evinox Modusat XR and XR ECO can achieve this easily.
R&B London HIU Engineers will make sure that youre Evinox HIU is set correctly to the manufacturer recommendation and to use it in the most efficient way and meet BESA Standards.
Radiator or Underfloor Heating
It’s important to make sure that your heating flow temperature and detla T are set accordingly to the type of the heating system you have.
For underfloor heating systems the heating flow temperature should be set at 45°C max. If you have heating system with radiators then it’s we will set it up to 60°C.
Please note that if your radiators are hot from the top and cold from the bottom it doesn’t mean they are not working properly or they need to be bled but that your radiators system is well balanced and the heating is being used to the most efficient way with a lower secondary return temperature.
Strainer (FILTER)
As part of the annual service, our engineer will clean the strainer (filter) from debris and sludge to prevent lack of flow rate and make sure it doesn’t end up in your plate heat exchangers.
